Minister of Education Dr Tarek Shawki, stated on Tuesday, that President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Prime Minster Sheref Ismail studied increasing the salaries of teachers and reforming infrastructure of educational establishments, funded through the sale of withdrawn state lands.
The ministry drafted a bill to allocate the funds in cooperation with ministry of planning, Sahwki said in a press conference, adding that the ministry will reveal the details at the earliest possible time.
The ministry also embarked on updating the current educational system to achieve a breakthrough in Egyptian education and foster the sustainable development plan in Egypt, Shawki announced.
Shawki counted the number of teachers at 1,300,000, which will double through the new educational system. He praised senior and junior teachers as part of a state plan to achieve the Egypt 2030 vision.
