Giza women weave new futures through Rotary-backed handicraft training

Within the framework of Rotary District 2451’s commitment to the professional and economic empowerment of women, the Cairo Sky Rotary Club, in collaboration with the Women’s Empowerment Committee and the Industrial Modernisation Centre (IMC), an arm of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, participated in monitoring and documenting the implementation of a project training women and girls in handicrafts and traditional crafts.

The training focuses on creating products from halfa grass, handwoven kilims from wool and fabric, and fabric recycling.

The initiative saw the participation of numerous presidents and members from 28 participating Rotary clubs.

This project took place in the Dahshour and Tannash areas of Giza Governorate.
