Giza traffic authorities close 26th of July Corridor for monorail construction work

The Giza Traffic Directorate on Friday announced the total closure of the 26th of July Corridor in both directions to traffic, in order to carry out monorail construction work.

Construction for the monorail project requires a total closure of the corridor in both directions to traffic for a period of one day, starting from Friday morning, the directorate said in a statement.

The Giza Traffic Directorate deployed traffic services and coordinated with the executing companies to signs on the road.

Traffic diversions while the corridor is closed:

•Vehicles coming from Lebanon Square and the 6th of October areas towards Zamalek Club, the 15th of May Bridge and the Mohandessin area will use the road supporting the 26th of July Corridor, which has been paved and upgraded. The exit will take vehicles to the 26th of July Corridor, and from there to the 15th of May Bridge and the Mohandessin areas.

•Vehicles coming from Zamalek Club and the 15th of May Bridge towards Lebanon Square and the 6th of October areas will use the road supporting the 26th of July Corridor, and continue until the exit to return to the 26 of July Corridor, and from there to Lebanon Square and the 6th of October City.
