The funeral of Major General Mohamed al-Saeed, head of the Interior Ministry’s technical office, who was reportedly assassinated by unknown gunmen on Tuesday morning will take place in the afternoon at the Police Mosque in Abbasseya.
Security sources told Al-Masry Al-Youm that unidentified gunmen killed Saeed in front of his house in al-Talbeya area in Haram district Tuesday morning.
Security authorities took security measures following the incident in an attempt to identify the assassins.
The prosecutors reported that Saeed received a bullet wound, believed to have been shot from an automatic rifle, in the right side of his neck. The bullet entered his neck and went through into his left shoulder.
The inspection of Saeed's car found that a bullet had passed through the passenger side's window.
