Paris–French President Nicolas Sarkozy's office said on Friday it had no information on a report that Tunisia's President Zine al-Abedine Ben Ali had arrived in Paris.
Al Jazeera television reported earlier that he had arrived in the French capital.
"We have no information on this," a spokesman told Reuters.
Two officials at the French Foreign Ministry said they did not know whether he had arrived in the country and were still checking.
