The Adviser to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for Health Affairs, Mohamed Awad Tag Eddin, commented on the probability of a fourth wave of the coronavirus in Egypt, saying: “Everything is possible.”
“The intervening period between the second and the third waves, and the current intermittent period that is witnessing a decrease in cases of infection and death, is extremely important,” Tag Eddin added, during a telephone interview with the “Yahdoth fi Misr” (Happening in Egypt) program broadcast on MBC Masr.
“This intervening period before the fourth wave sees the the training and education of all doctors, workers and officials to respond to the wave, in addition to providing the largest amount of oxygen reserves and medical supplies.”
“We hope that a fourth wave and other mutations of the coronavirus will not happen, but these are still wishes, and the reality requires us to provide all the necessary precautions and preparations to address any possibilities that may arise during the coming period,” he continued.
