Four killed, two injured in Luxor fire

Four people were killed and two others were injured on Friday in a house fire in Armant al-Hait, west of Luxor.

Head of Luxor Security Directorate Major General Ayman Rady received notification from the Armant Police Station that a fire had broken out in a two-story house made of mud bricks, in the Armant al-Hait district of the western part of the governorate.

The house and its contents were completely destroyed in the fire, which investigations later revealed was caused by a gas stove explosion.

A married couple and two children died in the fire, while two other children, both 13 years old, suffered bruising and a foot fracture.

Firefighters were able to contain the fire while six ambulances transferred the family members to the hospital.

An official claim has been filed with the police and prosecutors have been notified for investigation.
