An estimated 150 protesters attempted to storm the Freedom and Justice Party offices in Al-Mahala Al-Kubra in the Gharbiya Governorate on Friday.
Clashes erupted between the protesters and Muslim Brotherhood members who were inside the offices. Four were injured.
Police Captain Amr Abdel Haseeb was shot by an unknown assailant while securing the office. He was transferred to a local hospital for treatment.
Police have begun investigations into the incident.
