Four Brotherhood members sentenced to two years in prison for inciting violence in Suez

Suez Misdemeanor Court on Tuesday sentenced four members of the Muslim Brotherhood for two years in prison and fined them LE5,000 each for inciting and participating in violence last year.

The court acquitted 26 others of the charge.

Suez prosecutors had charged 30 Muslim Brotherhood members and supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsy with acts of violence and assault on security forces.

Thousands of Brotherhood leaders and loyalists are standing trials and others are prosecuted over charges related to the violence that followed Morsy's ouster in July 2013.
