Former presidential candidate: Anyone competing against Sisi in presidential election ‘crazy’

Hossam Khairallah, former first deputy chief of General Intelligence and a former presidential candidate, said that anyone who chooses to run against Defense Minister Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in the upcoming presidential election would be crazy to do so.

In statements to the press on Sunday, he added that a broad section of the Egyptian population are calling on Sisi to run for president and that any other candidate would be bound to lose.

Meanwhile, he said he has not decided on whether to run in the election, saying it is too early to decide.
