The Egyptian Foreign Ministry summoned the Iranian diplomat in Cairo over reported actions by Iranian diplomatic mission members violating diplomatic rules, a Foreign Ministry source said Tuesday.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Badr Abdel Aaty meanwhile said that the Iranian diplomat was summoned to the office of the assistant foreign minister for Asian affairs and that he was informed of the need for the Iranian diplomatic mission in Cairo to abide by the rules of diplomatic work.
Aaty did not give further details as to what the violations were.
