Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid has stressed Egypt’s full rejection of the statements made by the Israeli finance minister in which he denied the existence of the Palestinian people.
Egypt rejects such irresponsible, inflammatory statements and the racist gestures they imply that deny the facts of history and geography, and fuel feelings of anger and tension among the Palestinian people, as well as among peoples of the free world, Abu Zeid said in press statements on Monday.
The spokesman added that such statements undermine the endeavors meant to achieve calm between the Palestinian and Israeli sides ahead of the start of the holy fasting month of Ramadan that coincides this year with Christian and Jewish holidays, which he said all establish the meanings of tolerance, peace and respect of others.
