Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr Monday instructed Egyptian embassies and consulates abroad to organize celebrations on 25 January 2012 and invite senior public figures and diplomats. The celebrations will mark the first anniversary of the Egyptian revolution.
The minister's pronouncement, according to Amr Roshdy, the ministry's spokesperson, "emphasizes importance of that day in Egypt's modern history — when Egyptians revolted, demanding freedom, dignity and social justice.”
