Foreign Ministry announces Schengen visa rules

The Egyptian Consulate General in Paris has submitted the rules for issuing Schengen visas to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, as announced by the French authorities, said Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptian Expatriates Hesham al-Naqeeb.

According to the rules, applicants for Schengen visas should apply at TLS Company branches in Alexandria and Cairo.

Schengen visas that have previously been issued by France are still in force, according to an announcement by the French authorities.

Schengen visa holders need to carry multiple documents when entering the French territory, such as documentation to prove the passenger is on a tourist visit, prior hotel booking, as well as the program of the tourist visit, according to the instructions.

If the visit is made for business purposes or to pursue a job opportunity, the passenger has to carry a letter from the company or the party he would be working for.

Other recommended documents include clarification of the passenger's financial situation and return tickets.
