Foreign Minister strengthens cooperation with South Korean development agency

Foreign Minister Sameh Shokri met with the South Korean KOICA agency for development on Monday, where they discussed over 20 projects the agency is implementing in Egypt in the areas of electricity, communication and vocational training.

The minister called for more cooperation that is in line with Egypt’s development plans. He thanked the agency for completing a project for the automatic control system of the North Cairo distribution networks with a grant of US$2.6 million, noting the friendly relations between the two countries.

Shokri also discussed a project for an Egyptian-Korean College of Technology in Beni Suef within the development of the Upper Egypt region and called for mutual cooperation in African projects.

The two sides had already signed an agreement in July to conduct a feasibility study for an integrated technological complex in Amiriya.
