Foreign archaeologist carves Star of David on ancient Aswan stone

Aswan Antiquities Department ordered on Thursday the removal of a large stone at the Ptolemaic temple on the Elephantine island, Aswan, after two inscriptions made by a foreign archaeologist of the Star of David were found on the ancient monument.
 
The supervisors of Aswan Antiquities Department ordered an investigation into the incident after they noticed the two inscriptions.
 
According to the investigation results, a foreign archaeologist who works under a German mission conducting excavations on the Elephantine island has carved the two stars which symbolize the Jewish religion on the ancient stone.   
 
A report on the incident was sent by Aswan Antiquities Department to the Standing Committee of Antiquities of the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities, which ordered the removal and storage of the distorted stone.
 
An official source with Aswan Antiquities Department confirmed that the stone has been removed and that the department sent a strongly worded letter on the incident to the German mission.
