The international food exhibition Food Africa will begin on Wednesday and run until Saturday at the Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Center. Over 200 companies representing African, Arab and foreign countries will participate.
The exhibition will be launched by Trade and Industry Minister Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour and Food Supply Minister Khaled Hanafy. The participating countries include Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Lebanon, Jordan, Tunisia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Poland, Greece, India, Russia and others.
Alaa al-Bahey, head of the Food Export Council, said the council encourages exhibitions that are specialized in exporting in order to boost exports in the sector and open more markets for the Egyptian food products, as well as attract more investments. He added that holding such an exhibition comes at the right time to open new channels of communication with importers and exporters from around the world.
Dalia Qabeel, head of the exhibition, said it represents a starting point toward the African market and considers it a real chance for Egyptian markets and participants to promote their products and meet with leaders of food industries from different countries.
She indicated there has been coordination with authorities, all ministries, as well as the export council, in addition to cooperation with the Egyptian trade representation offices in more than 16 countries to organize the exhibition.
