Following quarantine, Egypt’s embassy in China checks on its citizens in Wuhan

The Egyptian embassy in China said on Saturday that it is making great efforts to follow up on the conditions of the Egyptian community in Wuhan, China, which has been quarantined due to the spread of the new coronavirus.

The embassy said that it has formed an emergency room to communicate with these Egyptian expatriates, discover their condition and register their names, addresses and all other data.

In a statement, the embassy said that the data reached so far shows that the total number of Egyptians in Wuhan city is about 315 Egyptian citizens.

Chinese authorities have requested the embassy provide them with all details on Egyptians within Wuhan, and on any surrounding cities within the quarantine.

Therefore, the embassy urged all Egyptians in these areas to provide the embassy with their data as written in their passports, and their address of residence in these cities.

The embassy added that it had prepared a special form on its website and a phone number.

It added that it is open to receiving any inquiries from Egyptians in these regions and in China in general, and that it is ready to provide all aspects of assistance in emergency situations.
