Following death of two doctors in Cairo traffic accident, public prosecution issues five decisions

The Juvenile Prosecution office in Amiriya, Cairo, ordered on Friday the release of suspect Abdul-Rahman M, 16, pending investigations into running over two doctors – killing one and the injuring the other as they were crossing the road in front of al-Shifa Hospital, at the Fifth Settlement area of New Cairo.

The Public Prosecution issued five decisions regarding the incident:

  • First: Ordering police investigations into the crime, its circumstances and conditions, how the accident occurred, and the source from which the suspect acquired the seized vehicle.
  • Second: Ordering police detectives to review CCTV footage in the vicinity of the scene at the time of the incident.
  • Third: Assigning one of the technical engineers in the concerned traffic department to inspect the fingerprints of found on the seized vehicle and conducting the necessary inspections.
  • Fourth: Checking into the condition of injured doctor, Abdul-Rahman Ahmed.
  • Fifth: Ordering the confiscation of the seized vehicle at the police office until another decision is issued regarding it.

The Cairo Operations Room received a report on Friday evening stating that a traffic accident had occurred by a hospital and resulted in the death of a doctor and the injury of another.

Immediately after receiving the report, police teams and ambulances moved to the scene.

The body of the deceased was transferred to the morgue, while the other who was in critical condition was transferred to the nearest hospital.
