FM to UAE counterpart: Deeply-rooted fraternal ties between two countries

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty affirmed, during a phone call on Monday, January, 5, 2026, with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the depth of the fraternal relations between the two countries, as well as the close cooperation and continuous coordination they enjoy at all levels.

Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khallaf stated that Abdelatty stressed during the call the shared keenness to continue building on the current positive momentum and to enhance areas of bilateral cooperation in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two brotherly peoples.

The call addressed the developments in the Palestinian cause and the current catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, as well as efforts aimed at implementing President Trump’s peace plan.

The discussion also covered the developments in Sudan and the importance of continued coordination within the framework of the Quartet mechanism, with the aim of pushing toward a humanitarian truce and the establishment of safe humanitarian shelters and corridors, ultimately leading to a comprehensive ceasefire.

The call further touched on the developments in Yemen, where the importance of supporting de-escalation efforts, reducing tensions, and backing the Yemeni national dialogue was underscored.

Minister Abdelatty emphasized the importance of reaching a comprehensive political settlement to the crisis in Yemen through an inclusive Yemeni–Yemeni dialogue that preserves Yemen’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and fulfills the aspirations of its brotherly people for security and stability.

At the end of the call, the two ministers agreed on the importance of continued coordination and consultation in the coming period on various regional and international issues, in a way that strengthens joint Arab action and contributes to stability in the region.
