Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Thursday 6/4/2023 received his Yemeni counterpart Ahmed Awad Bin Mubarak.
During the meeting, the Yemeni foreign minister conveyed a message from President of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Al-Alimi to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on ways of advancing bilateral relations in different fields, said Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid.
The spokesman added that Bin Mubarak briefed Shoukry on the latest updates in the Yemeni arena and the ongoing efforts to find a political solution to the Yemeni crisis.
The Yemeni foreign minister commended Egypt’s firm supportive stance towards Yemen’s legitimate government and its endeavors to reach a political settlement that restores security and stability to the country and alleviates the acute humanitarian crises.
Bin Mubarak stressed Yemen’s full support for Egypt in the face of any challenges, topped by the water security issue, which is part and parcel of the Arab national security.
The spokesman stated that Shoukry emphasized Egypt’s backing of the legitimate Yemeni government and the endeavors to extend the UN truce in Yemen, as well as Cairo’s encouragement for all efforts aimed at finding a comprehensive and sustainable political solution that is agreed upon by various Yemeni parties.
The two foreign ministers also probed the progress made in bilateral ties, where Bin Mubarak said he looks forward that the Joint Egyptian-Yemeni Higher Committee and the political consultation mechanism to be convened for following up the development in the two countries’ relations.
