
CAIRO, April 8 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and the Lebanese government, stressing Egypt’s stand regarding necessity of Israel’s withdrawal from the five strategic points in Lebanon and full implementation of Resolution 1701.
During a meeting held Tuesday with Lebanon’s former prime Minister Najib Mikati – on the sidelines of their participation in the Middle East-America Dialogue Conference, in Abu Dhabi, the Lebanese former prime minister voiced his appreciation of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and the continued Egyptian support for Lebanon.
Mikati reviewed his vision of the latest developments in Lebanon and the overall regional situation.
The meeting also touched on the latest developments in the Palestinian issue, efforts to consolidate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, release of hostages and prisoners, as well as the reconstruction plan of the Gaza Strip. (MENA)
