Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty participated on Saturday 24/8/2024 in the opening session of the ministerial meeting of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), which is being held in the Japanese capital.
The meeting is attended by the foreign ministers of the African Union and Japan and representatives of the United Nations, the African Union Commission, the UN Development Program, the World Bank, the private sector, and Japanese civil society organizations.
The meeting aims to prepare for the 9th TICAD summit, scheduled for August 2025 in Yokohama, Japan, under the theme “Partnering for Innovative Solutions with Africa”.
Abelatty held discussions with the foreign ministers of Somalia, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Comoros, Sierra Leon, and Côte d’Ivoire, on the sidelines of the meeting.
A photo op was taken of the participating foreign ministers and representatives of the African Union and the UN at the TICAD ministerial conference.
