Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Thursday left for Eritrea to convey a message from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to his Eritrean counterpart Isaias Afwerki.
Sisi’s message focuses on means to boost ties between both African countries and enhance coordination and consultations on regional issues of common interest, the Spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abo Zeid said.
Shoukry is set to have consultations with his Eritrean counterpart to discuss current international and regional challenges, particularly the Gaza war and the situation in the Horn of Africa.
Both ministers will also review means to cement bilateral cooperation between their countries, Abo Zeid added.
