Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty emphasized that any perceptions of the coming day in Gaza must be based on the unity of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and include the return of the Palestinian Authority (PA) to the strip.
The foreign minister’s remarks came in a telephone call with his Portuguese counterpart Paulo Rangel on Saturday 8/2/2025.
The contact dealt with ways of boosting bilateral relations and the latest regional developments.
Abdelatty confirmed the Palestinian population must stay in Gaza during early recovery phase and reconstruction efforts for Gaza.
He also asserted that the Palestinian people must restore their legitimate rights.
Meanwhile, Abdelatty underlined the utmost keenness on developing bilateral relations between Egypt and Portugal in the political, economic and cultural fields.
On February 25, Egypt and Portugal mark 50 years of resuming diplomatic relations between the two countries.
