FM discusses with Danish counterpart bilateral relations, Gaza reconstruction vision

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty confirmed Egypt’s intention to present a comprehensive vision for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip in a way that ensures the Palestinian people remain on their land.
This came during a meeting he convened Friday with his Danish counterpart Lars Løkke on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference.
Abdelatty reviewed the latest developments regarding the implementation of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian aid amid the deteriorating situation in the war-ravaged Palestinian enclave.
He emphasized Egypt’s commitment to following up on the outcomes of the state visit made by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Denmark in December, which elevated bilateral relations to the level of strategic partnership, stressing the importance of implementing all aspects of this partnership, particularly in advancing economic relations between the two countries in many areas, including transport, clean energy, and green fuel. Additionally, he highlighted the coordination between the two countries in international forums in light of Denmark’s non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council since January and its upcoming rotating presidency of the European Union in July.
He expressed Egypt’s appreciation for Denmark’s support within the frameworks of the European Union, affirming Egypt’s expectation for its continued backing to implement the strategic and comprehensive partnership between Egypt and the EU, particularly in expediting the approval for the disbursement of the second tranche of the European financial package for Egypt, valued at four billion euros.
