FM asserts Egypt’s solidarity with Pakistan after its climate crisis

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry expressed Egypt’s solidarity with Pakistan after the difficult climatic conditions it is going through.

This came during a meeting that he had Sunday with Pakistani Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on the sidelines of the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said the top diplomat stressed the importance of joint global climate action.

According to him, the two ministers discussed ways to strengthen the historical relations between Egypt and Pakistan in all fields and at all levels and push them forward to broader horizons to fulfill the aspirations of the two friendly peoples and enhance the ability of both countries to face common challenges.

They also underlined the importance of promoting trade exchange and pointed out to the tangible development witnessed by bilateral trade relations since EgyptAir’s announcement of the resumption of direct cargo flights between Cairo and Lahore.

They expressed as well their hope to continue close communication and the exchange of visits at different levels to boost consultations and coordination at the bilateral level and during international forums, especially under Pakistan’s presidency of the Group of 77.
