Sources said on Sunday that flights from Cairo to Tripoli were stopped because of the deteriorating security situation around Tripoli airport.
Flights to Benghazi had also been stopped for several weeks.
Tripoli airport authorities said that one person was killed and others were wounded in clashes between armed groups around the airport. Three Grad rockets fell in the vicinity of the airport.
EgyptAir canceled its flights no. 830 and 831 to Tripoli, while Libyan Arab Airlines and Al-Boraq Airlines canceled their flights no. 203 and 131 to and from Tripoli.
Hundreds of passengers were left stranded at Cairo airport.
