Authorities at Cairo International Airport announced Sunday that travel procedures are resuming as normal after a 3 hour stop this morning.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation said earlier on Sunday that passenger check-in systems at Terminals 2 and 3 at the airport went down due to a technical failure in communication channels between the international ticketing system and the airport check-in system.
A statement from the ministry said that a team of specialized professionals was formed to deal with the situation and provide passengers with all necessary facilities.
Minister of Civil Aviation Younis al-Masry toured the airport and inspected the airline’s handling of the passenger situations. He gave instructions on how to handle passenger issues and resolve them.
Cairo Airport Company Chairman Ahmed Fawzy apologized to passengers for any delay, giving instructions on how to facilitate travel procedures and eliminate any congestion in the halls due to the delayed departure flights resulting from the airline resorting to the manual system.
