Sharqiya's security department has announced that several members of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) ceded their party membership in protest of what they call the group’s alleged ties to terrorist activities.
Major General Sameh al-Kelany, Sharqiya’s security chief, said that 77 members of the party’s branch in the governorate filed official reports to police stations of Kafr Saqr, Abu Kebeerm Faqous and Abu Hammad stating that they are resigning from the party.
The members filed the reports in order to have official proof that they no longer are a part of the FJP.
