Yasser Hamza, member of the Muslim Brotherhood's FJP legal committee, called on conflicting parties in Egypt to sit together for national reconciliation and for the current leadership of the Brotherhood to retire from politics.
“I call on jailed Brotherhood leaders, as well as those outside prisons, to revise their thoughts and to withdraw completely from the poltical arena to pave the way for a national reconciliation,” Hamza concluded.
In a statement to Al-Masry Al-Youm, Hamza said the only way to solve the political crisis is through honest dialogue. “The current authority has to stretch out its hands to Morsy supporters, and the Muslim Brotherhood must not waste any chances for reconciliation,” Hamza said, adding that the Brotherhood has squander many chances since 3 July.
Hamza held the Muslim Brotherhood’s guidance bureau responsible for the mistakes which led to 30 June protests, as it interfered in the political affairs of the FJP.
Hamza added Brotherhood leaders insisted arrogantly on their errors and rejected the demands of many FJP leaders to conduct early presidential elections after the referendum on the 2012 Constitution.
Hamza also criticized the recently issued law regulating protests, saying it was not the right decision to achieve stability. “The protest law will not hinder the continuation of pro-Muslim Brotherhood and toppled President Mohamed Morsy’s protests,” Hamza said.
