Five defendants sentenced for torturing man in Rabaa

Cairo Criminal Court on Tuesday sentenced five defendants to three years in prison for detaining Ahmed Hassan Mohammed, a garage worker, torturing him and cutting off his finger when they suspected that he stole a mobile phone during the Rabaa al-Adaweya Square sit-in.

The defendants denied the charges and claimed they tried to save the worker from the protesters.
