Five police conscripts were killed and an additional five members of the North Sinai security troops were injured on Tuesday in a bomb blast west of Sheikh Zuweid city, according to medical and security sources in the province.
Sources and eyewitnesses told Al-Masry Al-Youm that a bomb planted on the side of Arish-Rafah international road, in the al-Kharouba area of Sheikh Zuweid city exploded while the troops were passing by in a vehicle.
The dead bodies and the casualties were transferred to Arish military hospital. Authorities were notified to conduct investigations.
