The Fishermen's Union in Suez has warned the fishermen sailing in the Red Sea against approaching the territorial waters of neighboring countries, especially Yemen.
Fishermen are advised to be cautious, given the United Nations resolution authorizing troops stationed alongside Yemeni borders to inspect any kind of ship, checking its permits and documentation, as well as the identity and destination of those on board, the union said in a statement on Wednesday.
Bakry Aboul Hassan, a captain and a fisherman from Suez, has warned fishermen and ship owners to act with extreme caution while fishing, and not to approach the regional coastline of any neighboring country, except for those for which they possess legal permits issued by Egypt or the authorities of the country they are bound to.
