The Salafi party had been criticized for banning its female candidates from appearing on campaign material during the first phase of the parliamentary elections.
The candidate is Insaf Khalil, and she is running in the coastal city of Ismailia.
While some Salafi bloggers on Facebook described the move as a step forward, others have denounced it, saying that it represented a contradiction of Islamic principles.
