Firefighters extinguished a blaze that broke out on Wednesday in a building near the US Embassy. No casualties were reported.
A security source said the fire started on the seventh and eighth floors of building number two in Qasr al-Doubara Square downtown.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it spread through the building. They were also employing procedures to ensure flames would not reignite. Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
