A fire broke out at the Central Security Camp in Morgham area west of Alexandria on Sunday morning.
Civil protection forces are continuing their efforts to put the fire out.
Major General Nasser al-Abd, head of the Alexandria investigation, said the fire is likely to be the result of a bad electrical connection in a central security vehicle that was being repaired inside the camp.
He added that it is unlikely that there was criminal intention behind the incident.
The fire left no injuries but damaged to building ceilings inside the camp.
