Finance Minister Mohamed Maait underlined on Wednesday 28/2/2024 the depth of ties with Russia, stressing keenness on boosting ties, especially in the fields of trade and economy.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov on the fringe of the meeting of the BRICS Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors in Brazil.
This is the first time for Egypt to participate officially in the BRICS meeting.
The two sides exchanged views on the best way to reach a global financial structure that is more sustainable and stable in light of the current international economic challenges.
Maait expressed happiness for taking part in the BRICS meeting, considering this as a good chance for promoting economic partnerships with the BRICS member states.
Maait said Egypt is keen on improving the business environment to be more attractive to the private sector at local and foreign levels, highlighting efforts to qualify Egypt to become a regional center for production and re-exportation in various domains.
