Passenger traffic at Cairo airport continued to drop, with only 55 percent of passenger seats occupied.
Sources at the airport said the low traffic has pushed six airliners to cancel their flights to and from Cairo, deeming it economically unviable to run their flights.
Airliners that canceled their flights are Middle East Airlines, which canceled flight No. 309 to and from Beirut, Kenya Airways, which canceled flight No. 321 to and from Nairobi, and Royal Jordanian Airlines, which canceled fight No. 502 to and from Amman.
In addition, Yemenia cancelled flight No. 607 to and from Sana'a, Kuwaiti Airways cancelled flight No. 1802 to and from Kuwait, AlMasria Universal Airlines cancelled flight No. 106 to and from Yanbu, Saudi Arabia.
The passengers were rebooked on later flights.
