The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced the date of the draw for the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2021 as February 3-12, 2022.
It added that the draw, taking place on Monday in Zurich, will decide the eight matches to be played in total between the representatives of each confederation and the host country, UAE.
Egypt’s Ahly finished third in the last tournament of 2020 after winning over Brazilian Palmeiras, Copa Libertadores champion.
The tournament will witness the participation of:
Al-Jazira (the UAE League champion), Al-Ahly (the African Champions League champion), Chelsea (the Champions League champion), Saudi Arabia’s Al-Hilal (the Asian Champions League champion), Mexico’s C.F. Monterrey (CONCACAF Champions League champions), Auckland City, New Zealand (representing Oceania), Brazilian Palmeiras (Copa Libertadores champion).
Bayern Munich has won the previous edition of the Club World Cup, after defeating Mexico’s Tigres UANL in the final (1-0).
