Sun rays fell perpendicularly on the Ancient Egyptian Karoun Temple in Fayoum and Karnak Temple in Luxor early Monday, an archaeologically-recognized annual phenomenon celebrated by tourism authorities.
December is the month when many Ancient Egyptian temples witness the phenomenon of a perpendicular sunrise on their sites.
“It is one of the most significant phenomenons that contributes to boosting tourism, especially given that it occurs every year,” said Hassan al-Nahla, head of the Egyptian General Tourist Guides Syndicate.
