An attack on a minibus, carrying 12 Red Sea Port Authority employees and a police officer in Suez, was not carried out by terrorists, a security source told Al-Masry Al-Youm on Tuesday.
The vehicle tipped when it was attacked by unknown assailants, leaving one dead and 11 other passengers with minor injuries.
The police are in the process of catching the assailants, the source added, who are believed to have been attempting a robbery.
Investigators found two bullets in the minibus chasse, which tipped the bus during the attack.
According to the investigation and the testimonies from eyewitnesses as well as the injured, attackers shot at the minibus with the intention of robbing it. When the vehicle tipped, they fled the scene.
The incident took place at the Sahl Hitan road resulted in the death of one man, while 11 other suffered minor injuries.
