Fatah and Hamas on Tuesday resumed talks at the headquarters of the Egyptian intelligence service in order to reach a reconciliation and form a national accord government.
A high Egyptian official said Egypt and all Arab countries support reconciliation between the Palestinian factions, which is the basis for a Palestinian state, with Jerusalem as its capital.
Hamas spokesman in Gaza Samy Abu Zahry said his movement would not suggest Ismail Haniyeh for president of the national accord government, adding that there are no preparations for a meeting between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal.
