The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said that the value of farming production in Egypt amounted to LE471.7 billion in 2016/2017, compared to LE363.9 billion in 2015/2016, marking a value increase of 29.6 percent.
Agricultural production accounted for 54.66 percent of the total value of farming production in 2016/2017, followed by livestock production at 36.01 percent, fish production at 9.29 percent, and finally insect products at 0.04 percent, the agency said in a statement on Sunday.
He pointed out that the value of farming production requirements reached LE142.4 billion in 2016/2017 compared to LE107.9 billion in 2015-2016, marking an increase of 32 percent.
The ratio of the requirements for animal production accounted for 71.06 percent of the total value of farming inputs in 2016/2017, followed by the requirements for the production of agriculture at 26.95 percent, followed by the production of fish at 1.99 percent in 2016/2017.
He stressed that the net value of farming income was LE329.3 billion in 2016/2017 compared to LE256 billion in 2015/2016, marking an increase of 28.6 percent.
