Egypt’s national swimming team player Farida Osman qualified on Friday for the semi-finals of the World Aquatics Championships in Japan in the 50-meter butterfly, with a time of 25.77 seconds.
Osman ranked 19th in the World Aquatics Championships in Japan, in the 100-meter butterfly, with a time of 59.09 seconds.
Marwan al-Qamash ranked 15th in the 400-meter freestyle race, with a time of 3.48.31m, and Ali Khalafallah ranked 31st in the same race, while Youssef Ramadan ranked 27th in the 100-meter butterfly race, with a time of 52.31 seconds.
Egypt’s ‘Golden Fish’
Nicknamed “The Golden Fish”, Osman was the first Egyptian woman to snatch the bronze medal in the 50 meters butterfly at the FINA World Aquatics Championships in 2017.
Osman represented Egypt at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, where she won second place at the 50m freestyle, and at the 2016 Rio Olympics where she made a new Africa record at the 100m butterfly by finishing in 12th place at a time of 58.26, according to her Swim Swam bio.
