Invest in your kids’ summer vacation time wisely and involve them in beneficial activities that help them acquire new skills and develop their characters. Start by picking your child's favorite craft or physical activity with some help from the following suggestions.
Art and Design School:
The Art and Design School features various artistic courses for both children and adults. Painting, basic design, drawing, collage, pottery and interior design basics are offered for children from 4 to 14 years old. You don’t have to pay for the whole course, let your child try more than one craft to discover his or her inclination and then decide. One session costs LE 200 and classes are offered Friday from 2-4 pm, Saturday 12-2 pm and Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4-6 pm.
For adults, more advanced courses include fine arts, interior design and fashion. The academic course includes 18 classes for two-and-a-half months and costs LE 4000. You can pay a LE1000 deposit to guarantee your place before the beginning of July and pick the date that suits you.

Fagnoon Art School:
Fagnoon is another school that brings out your creativity through innovative artistic courses such sculpting and ceramic arts as well as drawing on glass. Classic and digital animation courses are offered targeting children 8-years-old or older. The course is two months long and meets twice a week for LE 500.

The Pottery Workshop:
Here you can explore a variety of pottery techniques with ceramic sculpting. Classes have ten students or more and cost LE30. There are private classes where an instructor works with your child individually for a slight fee increase of LE 50.

Kids’ Workshop:
Diwan bookstore hosts this summer Kids’ Workshop at its Heliopolis branch from June through August. There will be five subjects: arts, crafts, games, science and drama. Each workshop will include three of those subjects, of which children choose two to participate in for the 90-minute class, giving them the responsibility of selecting their interests.The program is conducted in English and also focuses on developing social and personal skills. Adli Rizkallah Art Summer Workshop for Children:
This workshop is held at Qirtassiya, Diwan bookstore's Zamalek branch. Children are taught drawing, printing, clay modeling, origami, arts and crafts, music, drama, basic science, mathematics, the five senses and storytelling. The July program runs from 4-27 July for eight sessions for LE 390. The program caters to children from ages 7-12, Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30 am-1:30 pm. El Sawy Cultural Wheel:
El Sawy Cultural Wheel offers lessons on musical instruments including guitar, violin, piano and lute. Musical study can be extremely beneficial to children, even if they aren't going to make a career out of it. They'll get joy out of just trying out the different instruments. Courses meet four times per month for LE100.

Samia Allouba:
Samia Allouba is a well-known gym, dance and fitness center with three branches in Mohandessin, Maadi and 6 October City. The center brings certified professional trainers to teach your children hip-hop, salsa, and ballet. Gym and fitness classes are also provided for kids 3-15 years of age. There is a creative movements class especially for children aged 3 to 5 years to learn basic dance. All courses meet two times a week for one month at LE 440.
