The families of several martyrs of the 25 January revolution threatened to set the city of Suez on fire for banning them from attending the first trial hearing of the city’s security director and other officers who are charged with killing demonstrators during the revolution.
The court adjourned until 12 June to review the report written by the fact-finding committee for the incident.
The defendants arrived at the court amidst heavy security provided by the armed forces and the police.
Their defense team demanded their release, while the plaintiffs demanded that the former and incumbent interior ministers pay a fine of LE10,000, as they are responsible for the defendants acts.
