Fakharany’s performance yields highest revenues in state theater history

Yahia al-Fakharany’s performance in "Leila Men alf Leila" (One of a Thousand Nights) has garnered the highest revenue in the history of state-run theaters since the show opened in mid-August, according to the Culture Ministry.

Administrators at the National Theater in Cairo’s Attaba have put up an “all seats reserved” sign for the next 15 days.

Adel Hassan, media official at the ministry’s Theater House, told Al-Masry Al-Youm that the performance yielded revenues worth nearly LE1 million, the highest in the history of national theaters.

Apart from Yahia al-Fakharany, "Leila men alf leila" stars Lotfy Labib and Heba Magdy. It was written by renowned late poet Beiram al-Tunsi and directed by Mohsen Helmy.
