An explosive charge that targeted three buses carrying soldiers went off on Friday morning in Sadoud, an area between Sheikh Zuwayed and Rafah.
No injuries were reported.
The buses were carrying border guards who were bound for Arish to start their vacations, an army source told Al-Masry Al-Youm. The explosion damaged the windshield of one of the buses.
The same source said two armored vehicles combed the area of the explosion and three suspects were arrested but were later released after investigations proved they had no connection to the incident.
Meanwhile, the soldiers arrived to Arish safely.
