The Netherlands-Flemish Institute in Cairo is organizing a lecture May 21 on Egypt’s housing crisis in light of the excess of vacant residences.
Giving the lecture is Yahia Shawkat, a former consultant from UN-Habitat, who “has written a number of papers and policy notes on housing policy and mapped building collapse phenomena in Egypt, building the first database on collapses,” according to the event’s Facebook page.
The lecture will be given at the institute's office in 1 Mahmoud Azmi street in Zamalek, Cairo and begins at 5:30 pm.
